Question and Answers
Whirlpool dryer model LER3624EQ1
Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.
There could be many reasons why your dryer is not heating. The first thing that should be checked and verified is the voltage supply to the dryer. The dryer must have a 220-240 volt power source or it will run but not heat. The heating element requires 220-240 volts in order to heat.
The voltage supply should be measured at the back of the dryer where the power cord attaches. The voltage supply is measured across the two outer terminals/wires. If 220-240 volts is measured, then you will need to disconnect and test each of the components connected in the heater circuit for continuity with an Ohm meter. Note; I do not recommend measuring the voltage supply unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.
There are three components connected in the heater circuit which can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. There is a thermal fuse, operating thermostat and high limit thermostat. If any one of the three is faulty, the heating element will not come on.
I added an image below of the wiring diagram. I circled the components in black that will need to disconnected and tested for continuity. You will likely find the thermal fuse faulty. Be sure and disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

Based on your symptom the motor is likely bad and overheating causing the motor to shut off. There is a thermal overload protector built into the motor that will keep the motor from running when it gets too hot to prevent a thermal event. A friction problem or low voltage can also cause the motor to overheat and shut off. The most likely failure is a bad motor. I added some instructions on how to raise the top and remove the front panel and motor. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing the dryer.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.
The heating element has not been changed or modified. Someone may have rewired around a thermostat but the heating element you received is the same as the original heating element.
I added a YouTube video with the procedure of removing and re-installing the heating element. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.
I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
Read MoreTim: Locate the thermal cut off and disconnect it and test if for continuity with an Ohm meter. If the thermal cut off is faulty, the heating element will not heat. The thermal cut off is located on the side of the heater housing up near the top of the housing. If you do not have an Ohm meter, disconnect the power cord from the power source and disconnect the two wires from the thermal cut off and temporarily connect the two wires using an insulated jumper wire. If it begins to heat, shut off the dryer and replace the thermal cut off. Also; has the voltage supply been measure? The dryer must have 220 volts in order to heat. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
Read MoreTim: If the high limit on the side of the heating element is faulty it will not heat. In order for the element to heat it must have a 220 volt power supply. Each wire connected to the heater has 120 volts, when measuring across the two wires it should measure 220 volts. If it does not, one of the components connected in series with the heater is faulty. It could also have a faulty timer or motor switch if the element is not getting 220 volts. The two red wires attached at the element each should measure 120 to neutral when disconnected from the heating element. Which ever one does not measure voltage, trace that circuit to find the faulty connection or component. Do not check live voltage unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so, otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose the failed component. I added the wiring diagram in the image below show you see what components are in the circuit.

Whirlpool Tumble Dryer Serial Number
The model and serial number of your appliance will enable you to let the engineers know what specific model they will be working on and so source the right replacement parts and use the correct tools. The placement of the serial and model number (on the white plastic rating plate) differs depending on the type of appliance and the brand. The rating plate displaying the model and serial number looks like a large white business card with clear black writing.
Fridges/Freezers – Some fridge and freezer brands such as Beko display the model and serial number on the inside of the door of the fridge, while others such as Hotpoint, display them behind the salad crisper or bottom drawer. The plaque will also provide information on energy efficiency and output. If you are unsure of where to find the serial or model number, scroll down to view where to find the serial number for your specific appliance brand.

Washing machines – Look behind the washing machine door for its rating plate. Although there is no standard location and it will differ per brand, most brands will follow this convention. It will either be on the inside of the door (as is the case with Bosch, Hotpoint, Miele and Whirlpool) or less commonly on the door frame (as is the case with LG, AEG, Beko, Hoover, Indesit, LG and Zanussi).
Tumble Dryers – All of the above information applies to tumble dryers as per brand – because the style is similar to the style of their washing machines, the location of the rating plate is also kept the same.
Dishwashers – The rating plate should be in one of three places: most commonly behind or on the side of the door (for example Bosch, LG, Hotpoint and Miele), the base of the dishwasher under the door or somewhere on the back and sides.
Cookers – Most commonly the rating plate with the model and serial number is located on the door frame of the cooker – for example with Hotpoint. Less commonly you can find it on the side of the door or at the base near the front.
Normally, a cursory inspection of the front and inside (door and frame) your appliance should reveal the rating plate with all the information you will need. However, sometimes you might need to remove a panel at the front to see it – be very careful not to damage your appliance while doing so.
